The UN Safety Council has handed a decision calling for a direct ceasefire in Gaza after the US didn’t use its veto.
After the US resolution to abstain within the UN Safety Council vote on a ceasefire in Gaza, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu cancelled a visit to Washington by an Israeli delegation to debate Rafah choices, as relations between the Israel and US have hit a brand new low.
The UN decision was proposed by the ten international locations who should not everlasting members of the Safety Council, and in contrast to with earlier ceasefire resolutions, the US selected to not use its veto. The decision adopted requires a direct ceasefire throughout Ramadan and the discharge of all of the hostages held by Hamas. 14 international locations voted for the decision with none in opposition to and the US abstaining.
